Homestuck makes me Stubborn.

I’ve been a long-time despiser of Homestuck.

What ruined it for me originally was the obnoxious fandom. Youngin’s cosplaying The Trolls and yelling LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOMESTUCK every five minutes.

Not only that, they chose the lawn that is outside my hotel room for AnimeNEXT 2012 for their meetup, and their obnoxiousity continued well into 2am. Keeping a very grumpy Sara awake.

Enter Sarah’s friend getting her into Homestuck.

OH GOD, NOT YOU TOO.

*sigh*

Much to my dismay,  I revisited this webcomic. Mostly because Sarah’s friend told me not to let a fandom ruin something for you.

Fine. I’ll try it.

I got into a few pages and chalked it to being the most ridiculous thing…EVER.

Not only that, it’s over 5,000 (if not more) pages long.

I stomped away from this webcomic with disgust.

“There’s a Let’s Read on YouTube.”

OH MY GOD, SARAH YOU MIGHT HAVE JUST SAVED MY LIFE.

Indeed it did.

It’s easier to go through Homestuck listening to it. The voice actors are hilarious and makes it a lot less dull.

My favorite character so far is Jade, and Dave is pretty damn hysterical too, especially when he’s rapping.

It’s still overall confusing despite being funny.

I’m still trying to figure out the biggest question:

Why does this have such a huge following?

  1. I don’t know why. I tried looking into Homestuck and I don’t/didn’t feel the appeal. I know my roommates were trying to get me into it. I resisted by ignoring it. That’s terrible that they did that :/ I automatically dislike anyone waking me up or not letting me sleep.
