Can blogging be life-changing?

How has blogging changed your life? Tell us one thing that is different now than from before you started blogging.

I started blogging over 12 years ago [the 16th of this month in fact I will *DING!* in on level 12.] and it’s kinda crazy. It in fact makes me feel “old” on the blogosphere in a sense when I see other bloggers getting hella excited over their first year or their third year. It makes me excited for them too, because a lot of people will blog for a few months and then say, “fuck this noise.” and drop off the face of the planet.

I blogged in the beginning because I needed an outlet for a lot of negative thoughts I had over my grandparents passing away, it became the thing I took up because I didn’t want to self-harm anymore. Something flipped in my brain that I didn’t want to die yet, there was just way too much life to live. I found writing to be very therapeutic and mostly kept it to myself. Eventually I started branching out into the blogosphere and met some awesome people along the way.

While I don’t blog for therapy reasons anymore, I enjoy looking back on all the things I’ve done over the years like visiting NYC, conventioning or visiting an aquarium. Some people make scrapbooks for memories, I blog.
