2014 In Review

It’s that time of year again! Let’s recap over an entire year of blogging and fill out a survey. You can check out earlier years: 2013, 2012 as well.

I celebrated “Mew Years” Animal Crossing-style with my girlfriend and some friends. I also reviewed the e-course/journaling exercise Cake for Breakfast.

MARCH 2014

I did NaBloPoMo for that month, started doing photo blogs and attended a New Jersey Devils game.

APRIL 2014

I did one, two more photo blogs, and reviewed a few pairs of cat ears. We had an awesome Easter where we dyed eggs and snarfed doughnuts. I purchased a wig for my Nepeta cosplay, and of course reviewed it. My lawyer called me and said we had a disability hearing set for August. I friendly remind people not to assume things about me, because it makes them look like asses. We had a brushfire evacuate us from our house, similar in style to a previous fire in 2002. At the end of the month, Rin sent over my birthday box to make sure I got it on time.

MAY 2014

full of seeing some shit, reviewing more cat ears, turning 26 and spending it with my better half, got back into reviewing sex toys after a very long hiatus with the fabled Hitachi and did a couple vlogs while I was at it.

JUNE 2014

You guessed it! AnimeNEXT 2014! I had to wait for some photos to come in, so I didn’t actually post my recap of the con itself until July. You can check out the recap at Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 .

JULY 2014

NaBloPoMo for July!  Getting tickets for New York Comic Con was a complete trainwreck, Sailor Moon Crystal debuted and I’ve been doing regular [Okay I didn’t get the first three episodes…] reviews of each episode ever since. I reviewed the Influenster Spring Fling box and wasn’t all that impressed with it. For the first time in years, we went on a family summer vacation and it was really fun, even if I was feeling anxious as hell the entire time being out of my element. The following Saturday, I journeyed northward to spend time with my babe and see the grand opening of the Baby, The Stars Shine Bright NYC store. I also for the first time in a long time, made a thing. [PANCAKES!]

I got an official doctor-backed diagnosis of my mental health issues and went to a hearing for my disability case. I also reviewed my friend Faylin’s photography business. Rin also paid me a visit for the Labor Day weekend, and we had a blast.

In September, I went to the doctor for the first time since I was a kid in hopes of getting myself medicated. And the blogging community thinks I’m a big fat liar.

You Got Mail! makes a comeback with ThinkGeek. I did my first unboxing video as well as trying out the Love With Food subscription box and I went to another hockey game.

Sadly, November this year lacked original posts, and it was overall a sucky month for blogging anyway.

Join me after the break for the yearly meme…

1. What did you do in 2014 that you’d never done before?

I don’t think I did anything that warranted as never done. I’m pretty boring.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I did, somewhat. My journal wasn’t written in daily, but it was at least written in!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?

While we didn’t have much of a relationship because of very little I saw of him, my grandfather on my Dad’s side passed on the 27th of December.

I went back to a doctor.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I am my biggest failure.

With the parents.

21. There was no #21. I don’t know why there was no 21.

I’ll make up my own question:

21. Why does the term “designer drugs” conjure up an image of a bunch of pills hanging out wearing tiny Chanel and Prada clothing and snappy accessories?

Um, I think that’s the point of the name – to make you feel you’re better than the wino down the street whispering “fucksticks” at every passerby.

22. Did you fall in love in 2014?

I fall in love every time I talk to my girlfriend. ;33

You might think you have the perfect family, but in reality, you don’t.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year (because this Meme is apparently written for tweens):

Fuck that noise.
