[Review] thredUP

i first heard about thredUP through one of my favorite YouTubers, Living Rosa during one of their Vlogmas videos last month and decided to check it out. When i first signed up, thredUP gave me an extra 40% off on top of the almost 90% off they’re offering on NAME BRAND CLOTHES.

so what is thredUP exactly? it’s an online consignment shop in short, and you can buy [and sell!] your gently-loved name brand clothes and accessories. thredUP accepts womens’, maternity, and kids’ [both boys and girls!] clothes. [sorry grown dudes!]

now i’m literally a cheap bastard and will go bee-line it to the clearance and sale racks at a store, i don’t give a crap if it’s “so last season”. i hardly, if ever, pay full price for something and when thredUP is throwing $60 Levi’s Jeans at me for $12, how can I say no?!? i didn’t buy any jeans this order because i actually prefer to do any pants shopping in-store. i have a weird as hell body shape below the waist [probably due to the fact my right leg is literally two inches shorter] and it’s incredibly difficult to find something that is comfortable that’s not squeezing something here or pinching something there. i literally have at least 10 pairs of jeans in my closet but i actually only wear: two. TWO. because they’re extremely comfortable.

but anyway, i purchased a Harajuku Lovers tee-shirt and saved 73% ($17.51) on my order. i paid no sales tax and shipping was only $6. my total order came out to $9.88 once done.

can we say, WINNING?

i placed my order on January 25th, 2016, it shipped on January 27th, 2016 via FedEx SmartPost and was delivered on February 2nd, 2016.

i thought the shipping email was rather cute saying “your polka dot box is on the way!!” however since i only ordered one thing, i got a polka dot bag/envelope of sorts. still cute though!

inside the envelope was my shirt wrapped in tissue paper with a “enjoy!” sticker attached along with a little booklet outlining ThredUP’s mission and the packing slip.

the shirt itself was in the advertised like-new condition. there was no evidence of any rips, tears, stains or loose threading. it did however, have a bit of an odor [probably from sitting around a while] but i’m pretty sure a run through the wash should fix the smell right up. not going to detract any points for that.

all items get a hangtag stating it was “renewed with love in San Francisco.”

overall, i am super happy with my purchase and want to thank Tara and Mandi for giving ThredUP a shoutout so i could check it out!

VERDICT: 5 out of 5 paws up!

however, if you’re not happy with any of your items, you can return them within 14 days for store credit or a refund!
